Most people think that soccer is just a lousy old sport, but for me it’s a passion. The sport actually gets me stronger physically and mentally. Let take you back 9 years were I was still learning to talk and walk.
It was a warm sunny day. I’m talking about upper 90s type of warm sunny day. At the time, I really just wanted to stay inside and keep a cold ice pack over my head while watching my favorite show
My father was interested in playing soccer in his mid twenties. He had a good 7 year run playing this sport until an extremely bad back injury. Cause of this injury my father can never play an official soccer game. So he decided to coach someone within my family to have at least something to do with soccer. That someone ended up being me.
Anyway, my father and I made it to a beautiful field entitled New Haven Park. I was so entice because the field had new soccer nets and green turf. My father spotted a group of guys, so he went over to the young gentlemen and asked them if he could barrow a soccer ball. The young men said yes, but we must get them back their ball when were done using it.
We went to an area were it was completely empty, so I could have big space to play. Before playing my father gave me a few amazing pieces of advice. Some of these
advices were to always be vigilant while playing this game, always have a strategy before a game, and to always attempt to keep the opponent in a state of bedlam.
After that, we played until we couldn’t play anymore. On that day we both learn something. My father figured out that I had some potential and skills to go pro. So he took me to the same park at the same time every Sunday for a straight 9 years. Up to this day, the streak lives to go on. But, I learned something a little better. I learned the art of soccer.

I think that the teachers need to find a new way to make students do homework. I have a solution entitled "Homework of the week." This will facilitate the doing of homework.
How it works is that on the board every morning is the complete homework for the entire week. This will be copied into the agenda books of students. The teacher will come around the classroom and make sure that the students have written it down. The teacher will also read aloud the homework that is written on the board to make sure that the students have heard what the homework is for each day of that week.
Every night, the students will receive an email reminding them what their homework was for that night. The teacher will have them all saved under "Mail waiting to be sent" and every day send a new message. This will remind the students what their homework was and will give them less excuse not to do it. For example: "I forgot what the homework was" Well why didn't that student check his mail? "I forgot my agenda book." You don't need the agenda book because I sent you an email.
And even better, this will give the student some reason to convince his parents to let them on the computer. For instance a mother is mad because her son spends too much time on the computer so she says he is no longer allowed on the computer. But the students tells his mom that he needs to check his mail so that he can find out what the homework is. He is let back on the computer. HE checks his mail and finds the homework and then can IM his friends or play games for a while before his mother gets suspicious and looks to see what he is doing. He will have already laid out his books so that it looks like he was working. Some people think that the need for technology will be counterproductive but I think that it's just dandy.
This new concept or strategy will keep the students informed on their homework and will hopefully entice the students to learn.

President Barack Obama has allowed federal funding for research on human being embryonic stem cells. Obama passed the law because he thought it was significant to advance the science. He believes that these leftover embryos can cure illnesses and medical issues. Stem cell research is a new technology that takes prehistoric human cells and develops them into most of any of the two hundred types of cells in the body, including blood cells and brain cells. Stem Cell Research is a new way to facilitate (Facilitate - to make easier or less difficult) treating diseases.
Some people that hear about stem cell research are filled with animosity (Animosity - a feeling of strong dislike or hate that displays itself in action) and they're vigilant (Vigilant - eagerly watchful to notice danger). Some people are with stem cell research and have nothing against it. In my opinion, this is all bedlam! (Bedlam - A scene or situation of wild chaos and confusion). There are cons and pro-lifers. Pro-lifers believe that life begins at conception (egg and sperm) and see a cell as a human. They also view that injecting a gene into a cell would be killing a human. They think it's unethical and would be considered homicide. Cons believe that Stem Cell Research is harmless and they believe that the cell isn't human yet, since it does not have any organs, particular movement, or awareness of it's surroundings.
People who have Alzheimer's are beneficiaries (Beneficiaries - a person or group that receives benefits, profits, or advantages). Also, people with Heart Disease, Leukemia, and additional blood cancers, are beneficiaries. Stem Cell Research will care for their illness. The people who suffer these diseases, are usually Cons also known as, the people who are not against Stem Cell Research. Since they're receiving help from it, they're usually with Stem Cell Research.
I personally think that Barack Obama should not allow Stem Cell Research. Cells are living even though they do not have any organs, the ability to think or is not aware of it's surroundings. I believe that a cell is a baby even though it is not fully developed. Using Stem Cell Research is killing a human being. This will make me a pro-lifer.

Today in English we saw a graphic organizer that Jessica Haggy about what you want to do when you grow up. When I grow up I want to be a dentist and be a good one.
1.Jessica Haggy’s graphic organizer means that were are you now and what is it going to take for you to do that. If you want to be a dentist you have to go threw allot of studying.
2. To be a dentist you need to go to under denturist, denturist and to dentist collage. Also you need to have good grades to get into a collage and be a dentist. you also need to have a bachelor degree and be in a dental school for 2 years. You need to have a good report for chemistry or biology and have to take a lot of science classes. The dentist school takes 4 years with a internship. When you are studding you can go to a hospital to practice but a real dentist has to be watching you. You also need to do voluntary work.
I want to be a dentist because you get paid very well and allot of people will know you.
In Mexico there is a very good Dentist he Is one of the wealthy people in Mexico. When I was smaller I always use to go to him when I had a loose tooth he would take it out for and it wouldn’t hurt.

When you are a child that is about to enter a school for the first time in your life .Your parents will usually tell to work your hardest and/or be all you can possibly be. Well my parents tell me that every single day of my puny life. They sometimes say that I might become president, but then again most parents usually say that to their children anyway. I would much rather have my parents ask me want is my dream career instead of some careers that I have little or no interest in. (very few careers were appealing to me) Those careers were usually a pediatrician, lawyer, engineer and etc. Those careers are amazing, but there is only one career I can see in my destiny. The career that is destined to be mine is an economist. I want to become an economist because I have to be very good at reading, writing, and mathematics. Fortunately an economist requires those exact skills and more. Since I want to become an economist, I need to know certain skills, education, training and the average wage for a starting economist and more experienced economist. 5 minutes searching for information later I figured out that some skills an economist needs are mathematics; solving arithmetic, algebraic, geometry, calculus and statistics problems. By the way I forgot to say that math is my best subject. Another skill is writing; communicate effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience. Finally they would need reading comprehension skills; which are to understand written sentences and paragraphs. I’m very good at reading and writing if give it 150%. An economist needs much more skills, but I think that those are the most important. Now I’m up to education. An economist must require a bachelor’s degree, but in some might even need a master’s degree, Ph.D., M.D. J.D. (law degree). I really don’t have a problem going to college for at least 4 years. So the training isn’t much because the employees (economist) have on-the-job-training-and work-related experience. I wouldn’t really like the on-the-job-experience because I guarantee you that I’ll quite a few big mistakes. Were finally on wages or what I like to call the big money. The average economist starting wage would around $132,000. A top executive economist (very experienced economists) would make around $223,000. Now that is just amazing money. So I have told why an economist is my dream career, what skills, education, training and the average wage for a starting economist and more experienced economist. I know that this is an amazing job. I hope some of you reading this blog are inspired to become an economist. I just wish that that everyone in the world including myself can on day meet there dream career.

Jessica Hagy is trying to express how getting
what you want is hard. She drew a Venn diagram with the two circles: what you
are and what you want to be. In the middle it is labeled lots and lots of
work. It means that getting to where you want to be in life from where you are
in life is very difficult and requires a lot of hard work.
I am thinking about being a movie editor when I
grow up but I might also want to be a writer.
If I want to be a writer I need to go to
college and get a degree in English. I have to be able to write exactly what I
mean and not have to have people question what I mean. A second language would
help me get and job, and is nice for me because I know Spanish like a
second language from the S.I.L.A program. I could get a job as an intern or a
magazine and that would look good if people wanted to hire me. There would be
many things that I would have to do if I wanted to get a job as a writer. There
are many things that would make me look better than other applicants if I
wanted to get a job like and internship or another job or something that I did
in school that has to do with writing.
When I am a writer I might work for a newspaper
or magazine. I have to rush my articles but they still come out great and in
time. My boss really likes me and sometimes I have to work at home at night to
finish something. But it was worth it to do what I always wanted in life.

Numerous times, I've been asked what I want to be when I grow up. I've asked myself a few times, "What DO I want my career to be?" I thought of my interests and discovered that I'd want to be a doctor.
I’ve always liked science and am fascinated with the human body. All those cells, and ligaments, muscles, and organs, bones, and viens! If you really think about the body and how it works, It’s truly amazing!
Some people work as doctors for the money, but I would do it for the love of treating people’s illnesses. One thing that I’m worried about is messing up during an operation. One thing about being a surgeon, is that you only have one chance for a successful result!
I don’t have particular area of focus yet however, these are some of
the tradition professions in medicene:
MD
MD stands for medical doctor that practices general medicine.
Surgeon
A surgeon is a physician who performs surgery.
Cardiologist
A cardiologist is a doctor who identifies and treats problems of the
heart.
Psychiatrist
Psychiatrists practice the treatment of mental problems.
OB/GYN
OB stands for Obstetrician and GYN stands for Gynecologist. They both
study the female reproductive system and deliver babies.
Gastroenterologist
A gastroenterologist treats the digestive system.
Neurologist
A neurologist treats disorders of the brain.
Ophthalmologist
Ophthalmologists perform treatment20of the eye.
One thing I do know for sure is if I’m going to be a doctor, I’m going to be in college for a long time! And if it’s Harvard University, I’d better keep learning so I can start earning!

Death and the born can be very nice or hard times for someone or something. In my case, it was as hard as it can get for a 10 year old boy named Adrian Vargas. Have you ever heard the saying that when one door closes and another opens. What that saying means is that a good or bad thing can happen, but another good or bad thing could occur sooner or later. That is what I think this saying means. You could differ from my opinion. Most people I know think that when a door closes it something not good for you. When that door eventually opens it is something that happens for the same person. If that saying were to apply to someone, I guaranteed that someone would be me on February 13-14, 2007
February 13, 2007 8:35 am
I had walked just into Ward Elementary School, which I had attended at the time. Anyway I was going through my average day going to my daily classes. Then there was an unscheduled announcement. The announcement basically wanted me go to the main office. First period was still going on so I know that I wasn’t in trouble and was 100% sure that my neither mother nor father scheduled an appointment. Then it hit me, I remembered that grandfather was slowly Dieing in Mexico. I remembered that he had lung cancer that spreading to his internal organs. That meant that my grandfather soon going to draw his last breath. I trying to think as if miss an appointment or I left my lunchbox at home. I tried to think positive and no negative.
February 13, 2007 9:05 am
I finally made to the main office and when I saw my mother with a sad or unhappy face. She told me quickly pick up my younger siblings Luis and Elizabeth from their class rooms. I had asked my mother if she was okay. She quickly responded yes just go! As I picked Luis and Elizabeth up, I starting that something was really wrong for my mother to scream at me like that. I made back to the main office with my younger siblings. Once we all got there my signed us out and told us were going home. Luis and Elizabeth were cheering because we were going home, but they have no idea what is in store for them.
February 13, 2007 9:25 am
So we all finally made it to the car and started heading home. Half way down my mother told the saddest news I have ever received in my life. That news was that my grandfather died from lung cancer at 8:42 am. Elizabeth’s and Luis’s cheering stop. We were all flabbergasted. My brother Luis was the first one to crack up in tears. Then we all started crying one by one.

It’s has been exactly on year since my mother announced my grandfather was dead. You might be wondering what door opened after your grandfather’s door closed. Well the day after my grandfather’s death. My nephew Diego door had just opened. (Diego was born February 14, 2007 on Valentines Day)
Current Day
Everyone knows when it comes to death; it’s always hard time for a family and when it comes to the just born it can be very happy times. But in my situation, when my grandfather died one day and my nephew being born the next, should only have a saying with it. The famous saying is one door closes but another one opens.

On the day of March 18, 2009 I woke up and started getting ready like any other day. My morning started off fine until my little sister woke up for the 2nd day in a row saying' "blgggg-glagghhh" in other words, tossing her cookies. My mom decided to take her to the doctor since the medicine she gave her wasn't working. They left early, like at about 7:30. This meant I had the whole house to my self since my older sister had already left for school. I had about 40 minutes before the actual time I go to my bus stop. I decided to kill time and started singing opera. At that moment my dog scared me with her howling since I had completely forgotten she was there. I stated to bark at her trying to say in doggy language that my singing wasn't that bad. I guess that wasn't what I said since 2 seconds later all of the dogs on my street started to bark too. This was a lot of barking because most of my neighbors have 1 or 2 dogs. I tried barking at them to shut up but the barking just got louder. I continued this for 40 minutes when I realized that I was going to miss the bus. I quickly mad one last remark at the dogs and ran out of the house trying to catch my bus. That night while I was on this computer writing this story, my neighbors dog started to bark so what I did was howl. This started the neighborhood dog call. But now I wonder.. what do I say to the dogs that gets them all barking? The world may never know.....
