This blog exists to chronicle Kobe's life with us. Today he turned 4 months old. It wasn't a very eventful day, although it was a good one. He took his last set of shots so now we can take him into the dog park to meet other dogs. I can't wait.
We took him to the park where he ran around in the lake. I worry that the lake isn't clean enough, but he has so much fun in it... He bounded around up and through it... eventually seeing some ducks at a short distance away from him. He tried to swim out to them, but he couldn't really swim, so he turned around and came back to shore. He has his long lead on, so we'd be able to get him if he was in trouble. Then we played soccer for a while.
When we came home, I took him into the shower with me. Lots of treats made him more able to tolerate being hosed down from the lake smells. Even though he doesn't like showering, I think he appreciates getting rid of the lake smell. Every time he gets out of the lake he rolls in the grass. I think he likes the smell of cut grass.
And he loves being dried with the towels. I bundle him up in them and dry every part of him. He makes little moany sounds and gets all happy. Then I gave him an ice cube and a pigs ear to eat. I crated him and left to go attend my neice's 10th birthday party.
Kobe came by later and, as usual, he was wonderful with the little girls who kissed him and pet him and loved him. He found their screaming happiness a bit much, but they settled down and he took a nap on the floor while my neice opened presents.
We went home, Weldon, Kobe and me... and fell asleep for an hour in the middle of the day. A nice Sunday
