IN the book, Tangerine, Paul Fisher has a brother named Erik. Erik is a star football player. His dad is willing to do anything to make sure that he is put to his full potential. He wants him to be on the team, be exposed to the press and probably go to the right college to play college football. This is the Erik Fisher Football Dream. This affects the Fisher family in many ways. Mr. Fisher only cares about the the Dream, he doesn't notice Paul all that much. Only Erik and his football talents.
I know of a family like this. They lived in Pennsylvania. Their daughter, Skylar, was an amazing dancer. She was invited to the School of American Ballet in New York City. So, she and her mother dropped everything and moved to an apartment in NYC, leaving her brother and her father back in Pennsylvania. I'm sure this made the son feel neglected, like Paul in the Erik Fisher Football Dream.
