The Best Christmas Song EVER!!!!! (FINAL)

Twas the night before Christmas, and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even Rudolph the Red nosed red nosed reindeer, had a very shiny nose,

And if you ever saw it, you would even say that I've been dreaming of a white Christmas, with every Christmas card I deck the halls with boughs of holly, fa la la la la la la la la.

Tis the season to be up on the house, reindeer pause, out jumps good old Santa Claus. Down through the chimney with lots of toys, all for the little ones, Christmas joy to the world, the lord is come, Let Earth receive her chestnuts roasting on an open fire, jack frost nipping at your grandma got run over by a reindeer, coming home from our house Christmas Eve.

You can say there's no such thing as Santa, but as for me and grandpa, we saw mommy kissing Santa Claus, underneath the mistletoe last night. They didn't see me creep, down the stairs to catch a silent night, holy night. All is calm, all is rocking around the Christmas tree at the Christmas party hop,

Mistletoe hung where you can see, every couple tries to watch out, you better not cry, you better not pout, I'm telling you why, Santa Claus is Frosty the Snowman, is a jolly happy soul, with a corn cob pipe and a button nose, and two eyes made out of the weather outside is frightful, but the fire is sure delightful, when you've got no place to go, I'm gonna wish you a merry Christmas, I'm gonna wish you a merry Christmas,

My Life in Pippin's Life

In my opinion, we've all been forced to do something that we didn't want to do before.  Whether it was eating our spinach, or saying sorry to our younger siblings (even though we don't really mean it).  But that's your business, and this is my story; about when I was forced into doing something I didn't want to do.  It happened over the summer, so the memories in my mind are as fresh as newly-picked flowers.  My mom had seen an ad in the newspaper for a new camp at the White Plains Performing Arts Center, and encouraged my sister and I to try it out.  Completely against the idea, on the morning of the first day of camp, my sister, Elena, and I walked in.  At first, we didn't like the camp, because we didn't know anyone there, but we adjusted gradually.

The show that the camp put on was Pippin: His Life and Times.  It is an unbelievable story about a prince named Pippin who does not know what to do with his life.  He tries out all of these different characters, and even kills his own father, but then falls in love with a woman named Catherine, and they get married.  Though it is a very complicated show, we all enjoyed it.  I was a lot of people in the show; one of Catherine's maids, a petitioner, Fastrada's maid, a soldier, a monk and a peasant, all of the parts having to do with Pippin's different personalities.  My favorite characters that I played though, were Catherine's maid and a petitioner, because for the maid part I surprisingly got to wear this gorgeous dress, which I loved and I had a singing solo; for the petitioner part I had about four lines, which were very important to the show so I loved that part too.

On the last full day of camp, also the opening night of the show, we were all dreading leaving the camp.  Elena and I had made so many friends in the last three weeks, and it seemed as if it all had gone so fast.  The entire cast was so nervous for our debut performance, that we couldn't eat our dinners that we had brought.  We were totally psyched about the show.  Some of my friends called from their camp on that Friday.  It really gave me that extra burst of excitement, but I am grateful to them, to this day, because even if they couldn't come to the performance, it was really nice to have them in my mind while I was dancing, singing, acting,  and giving my all at something I love to do; perform.

Then the moment came.  The Burgundy curtains rose slowly from the floor of the stage.  The cast and I could hardly see the audience with all of the lights in our eyes, but performed an unbelievable opening number.  Later on, the time of my lines came and I did great, I was congratulated immensely after the show.  Then after four more numbers, I got to wear the gorgeous dress that I could not wait to wear.  I did forget two of the notes for my solo, but the audience didn't seem to notice.  After the show everyone said goodbye to each other, but knew that the real goodbyes would be the next day, that last performance of the show.

The next day, we did really well in the performance, which was no surprise on our parts, considering that we had practiced for around 10 hours every day, for three weeks strait.  Even though we all had to say goodbye to each other after that show, I was still excited.  The next day, at around 5:30 am, I woke up and got ready to catch a plane at 8:00 am, for Hawaii.  But I'll never forget my three-week life, in Pippin's life.

Fathers & Friends

              When every girl grows up she goes to or attends what is called a father daughter dance. About two and a half years ago was the first annual GSWP (Girl Scouts of Westchester Putnam) Father Daughter Dance. I have been a Girl Scout since  I  was  about  five; so naturally I went. It  was  my  first  Father  Daughter  Dance  and  I  wanted  to  look  fabulous.  I  wore  a  pale  pink  (my  signature  color) pearled  headband,  a pink  long  sleeved  shirt  with  sparkles  all around  the  collar,  a  same  colored  lacey  skirt,  with  tights  and  ankle  boots.  My dad  actually  wore  a  tuxedo!

  Almost my entire troop attended the dance.  My sister, who is two  years  younger  than  me, was a  Girl  Scout as well; so we had to share a date. We even chipped in together to buy our dad a boutonniere with two roses.  The pink rose was from me and the yellow rose was from my sister Spenser. The  dance  was  in  February  so  it  had  a  Valentine’s  Day  theme. When we first arrived we had our pictures taken under  an  arc  covered  in  red,  pink  and  white  flowers. Then  the party began! Because  of   the  theme  everything  was  Valentine ’s Day  colors. Tablecloths  were  pink,  chairs  had  white  seat  covers,  streamers  were  pink  and  white,  red  hearts  were  everywhere,  and  balloons  of  all  three  colors  filled the room.  All of the girls met up with their friends and immediately started to  chat  about  what  they  were  wearing,  how  pretty  the  place  was,  what  songs  they  hoped  would  be  played,  and  everything  else  girls  talk  about.  Meanwhile  all  the  dads  got  food,  sat  down  and  talked  to  each  other. 

After  all  the  girls  got  a  chance  to  catch  up,  they  made  a  beeline  for  the dance floor. My  friends  and  I  were  dancing  all  night.  Even though the music was so loud at times that each beat felt like your heart pounding against your chest, you  couldn’t  help  but  enjoy  it. The food was fantastic,  there  was  a   penne  a  la  vodka  that  was  smothered  in  a  hot,  but  still good,  tomato  sauce,  chicken  fingers  (for  the  little  girls),  French  fries,  spaghetti  and  meatballs,  and  some  other  type  of  chicken. The dessert was even better.  Home  made  and  store  bought  chocolate  chip  cookies,  home made  brownies,  a  Costco  cake,  a  very rich  chocolate  pudding,  little  bakery  cookies,  and  someone  baked  cupcakes.

At the end of the night when things started to die down they played a lot of slow songs so that all the girls could waltz with their dads. It  was  nice  to  have  those  qualities  moments  with  my  dad  (even  though  half  of  them  were  interrupted  by  my  sister).  Peaceful  at  sometimes  and  full  of  action  at  the  next, but  in  the end it was a really nice night to be had by all.
