My Utopia

As we read about Jonas' world, create your own version of utopia.  Look back at the list of problems in the world that you listed and consider how you might solve four of them in the utopia of your own making. And then write a short paragraph for each explaining the impact your decision would have on our world.

Ex:  1.  global warming and the impact on the envrionment

In my utopia, people would no longer use cars to travel.  People would live close to their jobs because they would have to travel by bicycle. We would continue to keep public transportation such as trains and subways, but they would be fueled by alternative energy sources.  The infrastructure of the city would change because we would need to have bicycle racks instead of parking meters. Roads would become places for bicylists and joggers.

My Utopia:

1.War

In my Utopia there wouldn’t be war because nations would sign a peace treaty stating that there would be everlasting peace and if two countries were having a problem, they would talk it out and compromise. We would form one huge country eventually and be peaceful. If there was physical fighting the leaders would be put on trial with their peers and the most extreme sentence would be death because the worst thing you could do if take a life and war takes many lives.

2.Racism

In my Utopia there wouldn’t be racism because kids would be raised to appreciate other cultures and other customs. They would grow up and have a family and teach their kids this and their kids would grow up and teach their kids and so on. This would kill off racism and people would appreciate everyone else’s culture.

3.Disease

In my Utopia there would be no diseases because people who were sick would be put in isolation until they got better. It would eventually die out and that disease wouldn’t be considered a problem. Then in many years we would have fewer diseases to worry about and then eventually we would get rid of all the diseases.

4.People With No Education

In my Utopia school would be mandatory for kids from kindergarten to graduating high school. People would not have to go to collage but most jobs in my Utopia would require a collage degree. Most people would go to collage, and those who slacked off would most likely end up relying on their family to survive well. In school they would learn to follow rules and would be supervised and in your graduating year would be given a list of jobs the school district thinks you would be good at, but you wouldn’t have to take that job, it’s just some jobs that people, after watching you at school, believe you would be best at.

My Utopia

1.) In my utopia war would not exist because all nations in the world will sign a treaty called the “The No-War Treaty”. This law prevents countries from invading other nations or having secret Government meetings about giving one nation to a person. Dictators would not exist and the king’s and queen’s power would diminish a little. By eliminating war, military personnel can spend more time with their families and tensions with other nations would settle down.

2.) In my utopia education is a must for members of my city. People start at Kindergarten and graduate from high school. In order to attain a job, a citizen need only have a high school diploma but that is if you want part time jobs. In class, a robot will teach and tell you all you need to know about the world once you get out of high school. People who attain a Golden Degree (8 years in college) are qualified for any job in the world even if it is not in their profession. Anyone can get an education in my utopia so long as they are willing to learn.

3.) In my utopia Global Warming is our first and foremost matter to address because as people throw away their trash on the floor, it starts to decompose and then creates a foul stench in the air and when animals die as well. Instead of always taking cars to work, a new invention called Tube Pod will transport you to your destined location and the only fuel for this wondrous machine is well any element like rock or coal. If we all pitch in together we can stop Global Warming by throwing our trash away, put on less hair spray and stop the bad part of the Green House effect.

4.) In my utopia Racisms will be a thing of the past. By holding weekly workshops for people who have troubles with other races unlike their own, we can try to break the barrier between people. Maybe people are racists because they hear bad things about another culture and are scared at what that race might do. Sometimes people discriminate because they think that their culture is better than somebody else’s but in reality NO because we were all made equal even though we have different skin color or are of different height and it is not funny to make fun somebody’s religion because who knows, maybe somebody is making fun of you behind you’re back!!!

I just read the book THE FIVE PEOPLE YOU MEET IN HEAVEN,I loved it! But that's not the point,the point is that in that book,when you die you go to your own utopia,the place where you felt the most like yourself.Okay any who,my utopia,would be a beautiful castle,that lies in the most beautiful meadows in Ireland,with those pristine rolling hills of the most green perfect grass,it'd be on the coastline too,there would be wild horses also.I would have 5 acres just to myself.Then right outside of my estate there would be abig city because I love the rumble and jumble of the city.

Fighting and likes and dislikes:

My utopia would be a place where everybody gets along and nobody fights. There would be no wars. Everybody would like to play basketball. Also there would be nobody that would be left out of anything. Everybody would have a good job; also everyone would have a good family.

Taking care of the environment:

Nobody would litter everyone would try and take care of their environment. Also everybody would have cars that didn't run on gas, they would run on air. Everyone will stay healthy.

Global Warming/environment- In my Utopia it would be a flat out law that you throw out your garbage. It would be a crime if you didn't. Today, in the real world cars contribute greatly to global warming and damaging the earth. In my world, everyone would drive hover carts that are solar powered. There would also be a law that makes sure that there is a certain amount of forest and open land without houses/towns. This way, animals will be less likely to move into our communities. I believe that its the peoples fault that we have animals, like bears, coming into our towns putting humans and the actually animal in danger because we are the people that are cutting down there homes; they basically have no place to go but toward us for food.

Racism- Well, when a child is born they are instantly taught to except others. They would be exposed to all different kinds of people and religions. People today are usually one religion, Kristian, Jewish, Muslim etc...In my Utopia you would get the experience all of the customs. Everyone would be treated equally that way, and everyone would be the same.

The Location- My Utopia would look similar to the English country side. This would allow everyone to experience different kinds of weather. We would be surrounded by open land and forests. Everyone would live in large, castle like houses with a farm in the back. Inside every ones farm would be horses and livestock. There would be no roads, because cars don't exist anymore. This is easier on the horses and live stocks feet. The community is like a big circle, and town is in the dead center. Nobody lives there, but the stores are always open, lights are always on and there are always people on the streets. There are two parts of town, the country side of town which is very small and the city side which is fancier. Everyone in my utopia knows each other, which is a great because you always have friends.

My Utopia

My utopia involves me ruling the world. The world will run on wind energy. Pollution will be outlawed with severe penalties.
Physical violence will be a felony. People will ride in cars that are powered by electricty. My world will also have fully functioning colonies on the Moon and Mars.

There will be no war as I alone rule the world. I would make sure forests are preserved. I will also make sure that weapons are illegal. I will also make Pulp Fiction the world's official movie. (For those who have never seen it too bad and for those who have seen it "This was an act of divine intervention".)

Racism/Discrimination- If it was my Utopia then Everyone would treat each person the same. Racism is a crucial conflict now and everyone doesn’t care or feel for the person they are discriminating. They are using stereotypes, colors, ethnic backgrounds, religion, and gender against each other. Sometimes they need to put themselves in the other person’s shoes and treat the other person the way you would want to be treated.

War- There won’t be any war. If there is a problem then we can settle it by talking it out. It sounds stupid but that’s the way I’ll solve the problem.

Global Warming- In my world there wouldn’t be pollution, landfills and any other way’s for Global Warming to start. We wouldn’t want any problems with our world. If the world started out in a good condition then I should leave it even looking better than before.

Love/Family/Gangs- All the people in my utopia wouldn’t have problems because they’ll all love each other. Gangs only form when they have no other family. No one to care for them and say "I LOVE YOU”! When I used to live in the Bronx there was a boy I knew. He lives 2 doors from me his name was Big Mike. He was a good kid and you’ll never think he would join a gang. So one day I was coming back from school and I saw him with a group of people all wearing read and red bandanas. At first I thought they were wannabee gang members until I saw the gun. To cut the long story short Make your child know that you love them and care for them so when they need help they’ll know who to talk to.

Tobacco Companies- Companies are selling all these cigarettes, making money and increasing the deaths cause by them. Each year about 440,000 people die in the United States from illnesses related with cigarettes. This is more than the deaths cause by car accidents, AIDS, alcohol, suicide, homicide and illegal drugs combined. If only tobacco industries would close down none of this would happen. I always wanted to know why our president would let the tobacco companies still stand here then after he will try so hard to stop people from smoking when he’s the one starting it.

… If we can put a person in this world and take them out, why can’t we start a problem and solve it. So in Utopia we wouldn’t put things we can’t handle at the time to the side inside of dealing with it right away. Take matter into your own hands and Make a change.

My utopia would be a place of peace. There would be no violence, no wars, no stealing, no arguing. It would be a place where everybody gets along with each other. All the continents would be joined together into one big continent. Everyone in my world would stay young and never die or turn really old. It won't matter how old you are, you can drive a car at any age. There would be no drugs, drinks, and any other bad stuff for humans. In my world, everyone will look up to me as a father. They will respect me, worship, and grant me all the things I want. Sounds kind of evil but, I will return the favor to everyone. This is an example of my utopia/my world and all the stuff that would happen in it.

My utopia would be a place where I am all alone by my self with no disturbance. I know that’s sounds kind of harsh but that’s the way I like it. But id be able to contact people and things like that but id juts have no one to disturb me or do orders or other things like that. Just thing about it…
Also id have anything I want with a press of a button. (food, games, TV etc).

MY utopia would be were life was like a video game (World of Warcraft). Every one is a different race and class. There would be warlocks,rouges,paladins,druids,hunters,priests,shamans,mages, and warriors. Were if u die u can go right back to your body. This wolud be the ultimate utopia.

1. Global warming- In my utopia ther would no longer be gas powered cars. In addition, there would be nomore gas stations.
2. War in Iraq- Also, in my utopia we would bring all the soldiers of ours back to America. Then we would setup a plan that would finish off the war forever.
3. Uneducated people- To add on to my utopia we would give books to the uneducated so they can start to get used to reading. For when you are older everyone would get a job but your job that you get would be based on your education and grades.
4. Robbers and murderers- Finally in my utopia there would be the best wireless security systems in homes and on the streets for free. Therefore it will make it impossible for robbers and murderers not to be detected.

violence- anyone caught in voilent acts besides videogames will be fined $100,000. that will solve the problem because no one will want to be violent except in videogames.

war- all countries should be combined into one and the government will be a democracy. therefore all people will feel united and be nice to each other or be fined $100,000.

discrimination/ racism/ sexism- anyone who is cought or accused of said crime would have to say their sorry and be forced to treat whoever they are discriminating against nicely for the rest of their lives or they go to jail forever.

worldwide peace- my utopia wouldn't be entirely peaceful because then all of reality would collapse sucking up everythig in it's path. people would be nice to each other face to face, but could say whatever they want behind their backs so everything is even.

global warming- in my utopia cars wouldn't exist. you would either have to walk, bike, scooter or skateboard to your destination.

skateboard prices- would be dropped dramatically so America can skate freely.

lawyers and beating the system/ loopholes- anyone who tries to defy the system would be forced to eat noodles for 24 hours straight. with a coke on the side, of course.

education- anyone who is uneducated will be put into a school instantly without any excuses except for watching tom and jerry, hey arnold! or invader zim.

my utopia would be similar to universal studios without fear factor.

This way, everything stays fair without violence getting involved. Everyone would be willing to help each other because that's how you were brought up. Also, to prevent built up anger, there would be a town meeting every week that allows everyone to share your thought an opinions on whats going on. This can go from laws, to fixing bridges that's causing people trouble. If enough people agree than the community will do its best to fix the issue.

Disease/sickness-In our world, today, going to the doctor can be extremely expensive, depending on what vaccinations etc...you needed. In my Utopia, the doctors would be paid by the government so that you wouldn't have to pay for annual checkups or emergency hospital visits. This can prevent sickness, especially for people who cant afford a doctors appointment or certain surgery's will now be for free so the disease or whatever the person has cant spread to others.

GANGS/WAR/VIOLENCE- In my utopia there would be a system that people could see into the future for crime just like in the movie the Minority Report (That goes for war and violence) For gangs… there would be no gangs.

RACISM- I think racism is really useless who cares what color or religion you are. Color’s of skin came from the weather when life was first to come. In my utopia I would erase the memory of racism in the people’s minds.

SICKNESSES- In my utopia sickness wouldn’t be a problem I would have all organic foods. And I would have cures for all diseases coming or are already here.(HIV/AIDS)

FINACIAL/ECONOMIC- IN my utopia I would have credits for every singe person that lived there. It would be like having 100credits or so, You would use the credits to buy what was needed or save credits to buy something that you want. Also if you have a job this increases your credit income.

Family: If my Utopia was real I would want evry family to get along without question. All problems will be talked out and there will be no fighting.

Racism:I would make a law that if there is any arguments you will be sent to jail. You will also recive a fine of $500.

Drugs: I would make a law to bann all drugs exept medicine in or out of the country. The drugs that people us now it causes people to hollusinate think differntly from other people and causes people not to feel any pain what so ever. They are now making what is called "wet weed" they take the weed inside of a joint and dip it in embolming fluids that is found in funeral home. It is very easy to get ahold of.

Teenage pregnacy: If teenagers were able to keep control of themselves.People would not be complaining about kids being irespossible. It is the parents fault for allowing something like this happen. If I could make a law about this I would make a some what simalar change to what Jonas's community is like. If a kid has un protected sex they will give the baby up for adoption not go for an abortian.

1.Pollution- In my utopia, pollution is not allowed. If anyone is caught polluting the area, they will be served 15 years in prison. Pollution destroys the environment and makes people lives indanger. Pollution can make your living area a horrible place to live in.
2. Murders(violence)- In my utopia, murders (violence) are not allowed. If anyone commits murder or does any type of violence, they will be sent to prison for 45 years. They can be in prison even longer than that, it depends what the person did. People are getting killed or hurt because of the violence. That is not safe for the community, violence makes it dangerous to live in.
3. Alcohol and Drugs- Alcohol and Drugs are banned in my utopia. If you own alcohol or caught with it, you will serve 20 years in prison. Alcohol makes some people drunk and then bad things happen like, cars car crashes, people getting injured or dying. If you get caught with drugs, you serve 30 years in prison. People are getting high and are getting violent, causing bad things to happen.
$. War- War is not allowed in my utopia. People shouldn't be fighting, we should all be friends n get along. Lots of people die, get sick in wars, its disturbing to watch all the people that died in all the wars that happened in the past.

Polution- People will be forced to throw away and recycle. If they are beeing seen littering they will be fined a certain amount of money depending on how much they were littering.

Violence- People will not even know what violence means. Everybody will be nice to each other no matter what.

Wars- Every country will be friends with each other and they will sing papers that they will not fight.

Jealosy- Nobody will be jealos of anybody. Everyone will be treated the same but not always get the same thing.
