- Exampine Mitch’s thoughts about his past during his visit with Morrie. Why does he become introspective, or self reflective?
- Contrast Morrie’s physical condition with his mental state. Analyze his affect on Mitch. Note Morrie’s aphorism about dying. What does it mean and do you agree with it?
- Discuss Morrie’s explanation of how he will die and compare with the information about ALS. Analyze the metaphor, “My tank is almost empty” (pg 37)

What morrie is rying to say about him being a bridge, is that he is something that everybody wants to use. And he is not going to say no. But when he says that he is not as alive as he used to be but not dead yet, i think he is trying to say that the bridge is not as new as it was when it was built. He is trying to say that the bridge is getting old and less sturdy. So he wants people to use him less.

What morrie means by being a bridge is that he wants people to use him. So that he can help them. Also what he means by he is not alive as he used to be but he is not dead is he is not the same bridge that was first built he is not brand new. He is not dead because he is still there for all the people to use but dont use him as much.

I believe that the author means that Morrie is a 'bridge' between death and life. He is not a entirely human because the disease has made him into an unimaginable state of partial vegetation. In that state he is at his wisest and most understanding like the guy who speaks in Yoda Metaphors.

I think being a bridge means being the link to two separate places. Morrie goes on to say "people want me to tell them what to pack". This means that people want to know what to expect when they enter their last phase of life.

Question 8- I think when Morrie says he is a bridge he means that hes connecting two worlds together. Hes not dead, nor alive; dead center. When he says "people want me to tell them what to pack" I think he means hes going to help people get threw the middle stage and prepare themselves for the next life.

When the author says that Morrie is a bridge between life and death.He means that he's showing people how it is to live your life with your days numbered. He's like the person you come for answers to questions like "What is it like to live with your days numbered. How hard is it to live knowing you don't have a lot of time left." Questions you yourself would never be able to answer until something like what happened to Morrie would happen to you.

I think it means that Morrie is a bridge to death, to life and the realization that in the end,it doesn't matter what you wore,or what you did, it's ultimately that you lived, and to embrace being alive and not dying.

It means Morrie is a bridge because he is dying. Morrie is not as alive as he used to be because he is in between life and death. He is like a bridge crossing from one side to the other. Morrie is on his way to the end of the bridge but for now he is in the middle.

When Morrie talks about the bridge it’s like saying the bridge is suspended between life and death, today and tomorrow. You just won’t know what is on the other side until you walk the bridge and find out for yourself. It’s a new beginning for you at the end of the bridge which is your life.

To add on he takes it and uses it as something that is new tha he learned about himself. He also shows no fear from it. He just makes his days his best.

Q7. I think Mitch in some way is happy about the newspaper strike because he dose not like his job. He was not really into writhing about sport because he wanted to play the piano so the newspaper going on strike is not a big deal for him. Also know he has more time to be with Morrie and not having to be worried about work.
