I chose question #7. I don't think popular people get away with more things then un-popular people. We are all the same maybe not looks or anything like that but we are all people. Just because kids are cool and have alot of friends doesn't mean they can get away with anything they want. I could have no friends (which isn't true) and can not be popular (which isn't true) and I can do something bad and can get away with it. But all I'm trying to say is that everyone is equal and if they do anything they should get punished equaly.

The main characters in this story are Armpit, X-Ray, Ginny,
and Kaira DeLeon. The setting of this story is when Armpit has gotten home from
a Correctional Facility that he was at. He is currently trying to get his life
in order. And so, he thinks that means having a job. His job entails in what he
has been doing for the last year at Camp Green Lake. Digging. He digs trenches
and puts in irrigating pipes in Texas; currently for the Mayor of Austin. He’s
been doing well for that last few months when a friend of his from the
Correctional Facility shows up and has a business proposal. His friend X-ray
asks him if he wants to double his money in two weeks. All he has to do
is lend him $600. Armpit doesn’t really want to give it to him for two reasons.
Firstly, he was in a Correctional Facility for a reason, and secondly, he wants
to save his money and gain it on his own. Honestly if possible. I think the
theme is realizing that there is good in everyone no matter what happened. In
this book, Armpit realizes that he didn’t have the best life so he makes goals
and he takes small steps to achieve his goal. That goal is to be a better
person,
The main conflict of this story is that Armpit agrees to his
friend X-Ray’s proposal. He lends him $600 and they buy tickets for $55 each
for Kiara DeLeon’s concert and then sell them for more money. Their tickets
start selling and they get good money. They then have 2 tickets left that
Armpit and his disabled friend Ginny are going and his friend X-Ray copies the
tickets, and then sell the real ones without telling him. When Armpit goes to
the concert, people with the real tickets come to sit in the right seats and
find Armpit and Ginny in them. During this argument Ginny has a seizure and
goes into spastic fits. The police try to arrest him because they think that he
drugged Ginny and copied tickets. He struggles with the police and they use a
billy club and start whacking him when he is on the ground in handcuffs. But it
all stops when the Mayor comes in and recognizes him. Then Kiara DeLeon comes
to see what is going on. She sees them and lets them watch the show from
backstage and they have an absolutely
I think that that
juvenile justice in this book is very different and alike to the juvenile
justice in the U.S.A. I think this because the police in this story had Armpit
in handcuffs on the floor and were beating him up trying to make him tell the
“truth” about what drug he gave her. I don’t really think security or police
would beat up on a kid that’s on the floor in handcuffs. They then jumped to
conclusions that he had given Ginny drugs. And I think some people would jump
to conclusion just to be safe real life. In conclusion, I think this is a
very good book for many reasons including the excellent theme; it is very
funny, the storyline is very interesting, and it teaches lessons about life. I
would recommend this to people who like books with humor and people who like to
read for a long time because this book is addicting.
I think Edward Bloor decided to structure the novel the way she did for three main reasons. I think the first reason is that the author could get the reader hooked onto the book and make the reader keep reading for at least another chapter, to create interest, and to set up the book. In my opinion, having the month and day tell you things like what how long since they have moved, when school starts ect. I think that the author didn't put the year because he didn't want you to read the book and think: "So this is what it was like it 1999!" He just wants you to concentrate on what is happneing in the book. The dates in the book lead to the conclusion that Paul writes or tries to write in his journal at least every day. I think Paul might keep a journal because he wants to look back when he is an adult and remeber the things that he did in Florida or when he was a child.
I think that popular people do get away with things. But me agreeing to this doesn't mean that I think it's right. We are all people. Equal. No one is better or lesser then another. One person might be better at something then another person but lacks somehting that the other has. But no one is perfect. Every thinks that if your popular you're in the in crowd. That has to do with the saying "Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder.". You might not be in the popular crowd but you could be popular in your own crowd. So what if your not as pretty as some one else. You might be smarter then them. Or stronger then them. Every one is unique and if every one just stopped for a second and loojed beond the surface the world would be a better place.
Now the previous chapter was after the real day of reckoning. The actual day of reckoning was the day my great grandma died. I was 4 or 5. We were very close. What had happened was that I would go over to her house every day and visit right after school. But one day I got out of school and instead of my grandma being there... It was my mom. *why was she here?* I wondered. I saw that her complexion lacked something. But at the time I had no idea what. We drove home. Again I wondered a question that would soon be answered *Why are we home?*. We walked inside and nothing was said. I was confused. And to end the torment my mind was going through. I went to my mom and asked "Why aren't we at grandma's?". Her lips didn't move but her face said this "How do I tell my 5 year old son that his Great Grandma is dead?". I backed away in dismay and sadness. I ran to my room, slammed the door, and cried.
"Dead! How is she dead?!" I asked my self. Death was not a concept I had yet thought about due to me never experiencing it. My mother walked in and sat on my bed. She put a supposed to be comforting hand on my shoulder and pulled away at the icy cold skin that her son was wearing. She got scared. I could feel it. She told me that it's a part of life. It happens to every one. That didn't help. The death of my grandma was like a punch to the gut. This punch changed me though. It took 6 years for it to finally set in but it did and that was the first of all the heart Abe. There is many more to come.... Many more tears to be shed... Many more spirits crushed..... All due to this one event that changed me.
First before I start the chapter off I'd like to thank all of those who decided to read this.
So it was the day. I had a feeling as soon as I got up that the first day of middle school would be a day that I shan't never forget. I got up and got ready for school & ignored my mothers constant nagging an average day. After getting all that was needed for the first day (which consisted of NOTHING) and walked to the car. That's when we drave to the school that supposadly was going to be a "Golden oportunity" who ever thought of that clearly has never walked in the door in my shoes. But I walked to the stupid aditorium and sat in the stupidly colored green and blue chair and lisened to the princapal talk about how great the school was. But what he didn't realise was that even though the school was nice and clean and the test scores were always high. This place was far from great. It was a living hell.
And as a student picked on for being "Goth" or "Emo" (such as I) it was like the nineth circle of hell (the devils fire place as it's refered to in many books). And then after the assembly I had to go get my class list. "Oh what a joy." I thought as I walked out of the assemblely. And of course there's the person who "helps" you find your list but they really dont help the just get it for you and send you on your way. And the worst part is that they wear those plastic smiles that seem supportave but the person wearing it really doesn't care. So after my list was found I went to my third period class. While waiting outside this class I was asked by a "popular girl" if I was goth and I said "Why would you ask such a dumb question like that?" and she said "With that attitude you have to be a goth. " and after that she started rambling on about her cousin who was goth. and then her friends came over and one by one each said " Why are you hanging out with this freak?" or "Ew keep away from him his goth." or "Why are you talking to a freaky goth boy like him?". And they all hurt. In less then a day I had been labled, mocked, and picked on.
