Friendship essay in: My Antonia and Once Around Manhattan by Jimmy Palladino

   The friendhip between the two main characters, in the two stories My Antonia and Once Around Manhattan are two very special friendships. They are special because their relateable and you know what it means to have a special friend like Jim and Antonia or Gina and Soo-Hyung, the two main characters in the stories. The friendships that are in these stories are very deeply personal between the main characters.

  The friendship that Jim and Antonia share is a very personal and they seem to really enjoy eachother's company. In the story, Jim asks "Why aren't you always this nice?" when they are on the roof looking at the thunder clouds. This shows their friendship because Jim thinks that Antonia is nice in his company and that he's wondered why she doesn't always act nice when around other people. This might mean that Antonia thinks that Jim is a friend and she can be friendly around him. Also in the story, Jim says "Like this; like yourself. Why do you all the time try to be like Ambrusch?" when they were talking about why Antonia is not always nice. This might mean that Jim thinks that Antonia is a much more pleasent person when she wasn't trying to be just like her brother. This is how Jim and Antonia's friendship is a very personal friendship when they are together.

  The friendship between both Gina and Soo-Hyung is a very deep rooted frienship that goes back to when they were very young. In the story it says that Gina said that she recognized the bridge as the one that they had played on when they were young. This shows how they have remained freinds ever since they wer young and that they liked to do things together whenever they could. This also means that they remebered when they first played together all those years ago, and that they have a strong friendship. Another part of the story is when they say that they can do it even when they are told if they can go all the way to their goal. This shows that they don't quit when the going gets tough, and that they work together to get to where they want to be even when the odds are against them. This is how Gina and Soo-Hyung's friendship is not only deep rooted, but it's also a very persistant one that nothing can break it apart.

   Both frienships are very similar in a lot of different ways even though there not the entirely same kind of friendships. They are similar because they all seem to be very persistant and seem to be very long running friendships that won't give up on eachother. Another reason, is that they both seem to be very personal like how Gina remembers all the good times they had and Antonia feel like she and Jim can be friendly to eachother and not trying to act like someone else. Finally, they seem to make people act differently around the other person and they seem to give eachother hope to reach any kind of goal. These are some reasons why both friendships between these two pairs of characters is very special, persistant, and makes the people remember the good times or make them act like a different person.

  So in summary I have a few things to say about these two friendships between Jim and Antonia, and Gina and Soo-Hyung. Jim and Antonias friendship seems to makje Antonia feel more like she would be and less like what other people see her as. Gina and Soo-Hyung's friendship seems to make Gina remember all the times that they had used to have, also it seems to be deep rooted and persistant against all odds. They bothe seem to not only make people feel things that they usually keep to themselves, but they also are strong and don't ever quiot when they have been friends for so long. These are the ways that the friendships are unique and even the same in some different ways.

Halo 3 spartan Omega Squad: Enter the Berserker

   A bullet ejected from the case and landed on the roof of the brute encampment. Matt, Spartan 137, was that sniper, he had hit the brute chieftain dead square in the back of the spine, killing him instantly. He then shot the brute standing guard at the opposite end of the encampment, killing all that remained of the guarding brutes outside the brute building, after spending the last bullet on a drone that flew threw the encampment he discarded his rifle. He then jumped to the ground and collected the chieftains gravity hammer and a needler from the drone,  he then ran to the other side of the encampment and started the infiltration part of his mission.

   Matt ran towards the door at the back of the building and broke the door down with the gravity hammer and then climbed into the air vent at the end of the hallway. He swapped the hammer for the needler and began to crawl towards the end of the vent, and then turned a corner and crawled a little bit more till he found what he was looking for, the brutes weapon room. Matt jumped out and saw a myriad of covenant technology all evenly distributed on to several racks from the plasma pistol to the deadly fuel rod cannon. He began his first part of the operation, and took out a large clustered C-12 bomb and started rigging it to the weapons rack.

  Loro Havana, a grunt major walked out of a room just done cleaning the fusion core of the building and then was about to go clean up the vehicles when he heard a very weird noise coming from the weapons room. He took out his needler and started towards the door finger clinging to the trigger, he peeked though the crack of the door and saw a large hulk of a man wearing purple armor rigging up what he called a heretic weapon to the weapons rack. He took one step backwards and tripped, the purple being was startled and drew Loro's own weapon out and aimed it at him, the purple being started to talk in a weird language that his translator translated into "If you want to live I would go tell your heathen friends to come out and fight." Loro then regained his balance and ran to get the other covenant troops.   

   Here I thought this wasn't going to be any fun Matt thought as he swapped his needler with a plasma pistol and a brute mauler, and also replaced his spent gravity hammer for a fuel rod gun on the weapons rack. He then exited the  weapons room, welding the door shut as he went to face the oncoming covenant assault; the first was a group of three "shielded" jackals and a brute captain. Matt then shot an overcharged plasma shot at the first jackals shield and instantly shot it with a mauler round, he then swiftly activated the cloaking device he had at the start of the mission and smacked the two jackals with the pistol and the mauler. The brute shot at Matt with his spiker, but Matt was able to easily avoid it and shot it with a fuel rod missile, he then walked back to the end of the hallway and started towards the vehicles hangar marked on his HUD.

   The resistance that Matt met on the way to the hangar was increasingly concentrating with grunts coming first until he was approached two "living tank" hunters. The first hunter had attempted to hit Matt with his large unbreakable shield, but was to quick on the preparation as Matt dodged it by strafing to the right and shooting it with his last fuel rod missile that immediately burned several layers of the eel like creatures that make up its body. Matt discarded the spent fuel rod gun and then upholstered his mauler and plasma pistol, the hunter screaming a loud harmonic screech while the other one attempted to shoot him with its assault cannon. Matt then, on instinct jumped up in the air as the beam tore a green light ray forward that would have cooked him alive. Matt then ran to the hunters unprotected torso and shot it with several rounds of his mauler making the eel colony lose it coherence and the hunter fell over and died just as the other one regained its composure. Angry with revenge it charged at Matt as he got up from the hunters body with only a limited plasma pistol battery and two mauler slugs left, he strafed to the left and punched the hunter in its exposed burnt torso making it weaken. The hunter on one knee took out his assault cannon and shot at Matt, the only thing that got hit was the opposite wall and Matt appeared behind it and shot it with the plasma pistol and mauler while hammering at the eel colony. The hunter fell over eels burnt and spilling orange blood out of opened wounds that Matt dealt, Matt then walked to the final door into the vehicle hangar. Time to go to work on these vehicles Matt thought as started taking out the LOTUS mines that he had been given for this part of the mission.

   After 2 hours of rigging up the mines Matt then set the timer for 20 minutes and then looked for a suitable ride out of the hangar to the ALBATROSS drop ship that was sent to retrieve them. He was in the process of finding a vehicle when 35 covenant troops came into the hangar and they all looked at Matt and raised their weapons at him. Matt seeing the threat and he was all out of ammo he then jumped onto a brute chopper and started towards the troops firing the choppers auto cannons at ten brutes at the side of the group. He had taken out at least five brutes before they tried to fire on him from the choppers unprotected back, Matt  then turned around, but got caught off guard and got hit with several plasma shots reducing his energy shield to about one-third. He then jumped off the chopper and jumped on the nearest brute and then started punching it until it was beaten to death, he then took the brutes spiker and started shooting at the other brutes in the face. He had taken down another 7 before the timer reached 15 minutes and time was of the essence. Matt then used a carbine that he had taken from a dead jackal and started sniping the covenant troops from afar, by the time the counter was at 10 minutes he had killed most of the covenant troop when he ran out of battery for the carbine, he then saw three brute chieftains, two of which hefted plasma turrets and one had a fuel rod gun. assessing the threat he then ran towards a nearby ghost and drove it around the hangar and then around shooting the rest of the covenant troops to smithereens, all that was left was a hunter and two brute chieftains who had severely reduced shields. Matt then drew a gravity hammer that one of the brutes left, and proceeded to rush the chieftains and hit them with the hammer that sent a shock wave at the chieftains and crushed them. Matt then discarded his spiker and traded it with the chieftains fuel rod gun and then shot the hunter twice with it in the unprotected abdomen, but the hunter still managed to hold together and tried to rush him. The hunters shield grazed Matt's shield and made it fall, Matt then rushed him with his hammer and made the eel colony completely crushed under the shock wave. Breathing heavily Matt was stuck as the timer went down to 5 minutes "Theres no more time, even if I could get a vehicle it would still take more then 5 minutes to get out of the blast radius" Matt talked to himself. As the timer was going a familiar red spartan appeared on a MONGOOSE-ATV "Get on, Matt," Spriggs said in a computer voice "We have to move!" Spriggs said as Matt got on and they started out of the hangar and full speed to where the drop ship was. The timer on Matt HUD was going down from 115 seconds and closing on exploding and they were still 5 miles inside the blast radius "We're not going to make it!!!" Matt yelled "Trust me boy I do this all the time" Spriggs said as they started to gain speed and were looking like they were going to make it. "I didn't know Mongooses had turbo" Matt said as he looked at the speed "They don't, but the laws of physics don't apply here, this isn't earth." Spriggs said as they made it to the Albatross. "So how did you get there Spriggs, I thought you went off in the other direction?" Matt asked "Well thats a story for another day. Hey do you know how much ammo you have left?" Spriggs said as they got off the mongoose. Matt looked down to check his ammo counter, but when he looked Spriggs hit him with the back of his hand sending him backwards into the Albatross.

   "What was that about?" one of the soldiers that was standing guard asked "Only would have slowed me" Spriggs said as he exited the Albatross. "What do you mean?" the other soldier asked "The first part of the mission was completed when Matt destroyed the first building, but the second building needs to be specially infiltrated, that's where I come in you need to round up the others, I have another thing to do." Spriggs answered. "Where are you going?" The soldiers asked "The second base, kill everyone, get everybody back." Spriggs said as he got back on his mongooses and drove away.

 

      

Popular people can get away with anything? FINAL

    For my blog I am writing about "Can popular people get away with anything" I strongly disagree. Everyone has equal rights. It doesn't matter if they are popular. What if they are taking drugs, that is not cool. Also what if they cheat on test? That seems unfair. Popular people get caught doing something. Just because they think they are better then others doesn't mean that they are. All people are the same popular kids are just lost in their own little world, and think that everything revolves around them when it doesn't even involve them. Also everyone is popular some might not be in school, but they might in church, dance, play, or sports. So basically everyone is popular, they just hang around different types of people.   

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I think that beauty is in the eye of the beholder is definitely a true statement.My mom's friend ,Jackie ,has a dog who we 've all grown to love.He is a Bull Mastif and weighs as much as a grown man.He has some kind of digestive problem which causes him to constently burp and has a bottom tooth that sticks out of his mouth even when his mouth is closed.Because of the tooth that sticks out, his mouth can't close completely and he slobbers and drools alot.My mom and I think that Jackie's dog Magoo is so cute.We have known him since he was a puppy and don't see his faults.Alot of Jackie's other friends and neighbors think that Magoo is ugly and some are even afraid of him because they think that he is scarey looking.The funny thing is Jackie's other dog is a 7 lb Maltese which runs the house! Magoo actually hides from the tiny dog. If people really got to know him they'd realize that he is actually very sweet.He thinks he's a lap dog even though he weighs 175 lbs5 .If you're sitting down near him,Magoo will come over and put his enormous head on your lap and leave  a puddle of drool behind when he decides to move.One of his favorite things to do is to ride in the back seat of Jackie's convertable Volkswagon bug with the top down and his ears blowing. That is so funny to see.When I look at Magoo I see a big , friendly drooling teddy bear. To me he's a beautiful dog and a great companion.

Question #7 is saying that popular people can gat away with more then less popular people. i agree with this question because the populer person knows alot of people and his or hers friends would have his back. And if the popula person gets introuble the princapal might know the popula person he might not get introuble. And if the un popula person gets introuble he wont have that maby friends to have his or hers back.  If the un populer person gets introuble with the princapal he would get him in trouble. But that happends some times. and one day when i was in school i saw 2 kidds introuble and he sended one to the princapal and it was the un popula person. i think this is rong but i  now that the un popular person always gets itrouble and the un populer person gets away with every thing. this is why i chose question #7.

Response from Anticipation guide sheet

   Question #7 is asking if popular people can get away with things other people can't get away with. I find this question very disturbing because it makes people feel like their being grouped together for who knows what reason, with that in mind I greatly disagree with this statement. I think that whoever thinks that they can get away with stuff that other people can't get away with are not only jerks, but their not even people you should be seen with. I also think that if you have that much of an ego you aren't really friendly and you aren't going to get any friends because you have a giant attitude. Also even if you have a better chance of getting away with something just because people like you for no apparent reason you don't have any better chance of someone who just has one friend. So in closing I think that not only is someone who thinks that they can get away with so9mething just because their popular is really just somebody with a giant ego and thinks higher of themselves than others. I also think that these people aren't really worth being friends if they just do something bad and they don't get in trouble for it and then you somehow even get mixed up into it.

Gathering Blue

            In this book there have been sad things in this book. Kids have been child abused. In the book when a kid was weak or handicap they would leave them to die. They would do that because they think that person is useless and its just another mouth to feed. People would also lock there children in a cage only because they did something bad.

Matt was a Kid that had bean neglected and abused. Matt had two parents but his dad died. Mats mom doesn’t really care about him. Matt would have to steal food because Mats mom never gave him food. Matt was never taken care of. His mom would neglect and also abuse him. Mats mom would punch him. That is to cruel just for a mistake or no reason. Matt would get beat until he started bleeding. Don’t treat your kids like this.
