Leap Year is celebrated every 4th year on February 29th. This uncommon day only comes every 4th year to keep the calender year and the Astronomical (seasonal) year the same.Years that aren't leap years are called Common Years. There are 6 extra hours each year and they are added up every 4th year to make February 29th ( the extra day which makes it leap year). The chances of being born on Leap year are about 1/1500 (WOW) so it is fairly rare, and the tradition is that on February 29th a women can propose to a man.
February 2004 along with 1920, 1948, and 1976 all had 5 Sundays. Our next February with 5 Sundays will be in 2032. February's with five Sundays only come every 28 years.
If you are born on leap year then you might only celebrate your birthday on February 29th (which stinks for you) then you have only celebrated 3 birthdays if you are 12, 6 if you are 24, 9 if you are 36, 12 if you are 48 (you divide your age by 4 and thats how many leap years there have been in your life). Or you might celebrate on February 28th (on non leap years) or March 1st or if you wanted to you could celebrate on both (that makes leap year fun).
I know almost no one born on February 29th but one person I know very well that is born on February 29 is my mom! She used to celebrate on the 28th of February and March 1st in a common year but now she celebrates the week before February 28th and the week after February 28th but she gets presents all month! My mom knows two other people from work that have family born on Leap Year but she doesn't know them and she likes to think of February 29th as her holiday.
