Small Steps Review- FINAL

Small Steps is a amazing book by Louis Sachar. The main characters of the book are Armpit, X- Ray, and Ginny. Armpit had came back from Camp Green Lake 2 years ago. He is trying to make a better life for himself by going back to school and taking on a job in Austin, Texas. X-Ray is still the same bad boy he was at Camp Green Lake. Ginny is Armpit's disabled neighbor. Ginny and Armpit have a very strong connection and Ginny is helping Armpit take small steps.

Armpit takes Ginny to a concert to see a pop singer. At the concert there is a problem with the tickets. The police were quick to accuse Armpit for doing something illegal to get into the concert. After the concert Armpit has received visits from the police and has been to the police station.

What I like best about the book

I think the best part about the book is how Armpit tries to make his life as normal as he can possibly make it. He tries to take small steps. He goes to school during the summer because he wants to make up what he had missed. He has a normal job. He has been digging at Camp Green Lake and now he digs to earn a living. Armpit even tries dating. He asks a girl to a concert and she accepts, but then he is turned down.

What kind of reader would like to read this book?

A lot of readers would like to read this book, but I would like to prefer this to people who had read the Holes book. It is like the sequel and you should know what was happening with Armpit at Camp Green Lake to understand his background. I would also recommend this to people who could relate to Armpit and is trying to fix their life.

Rating:  ***** or 5 stars

My Book Review (final)

The book that I read was called Quinceañera Means Sweet 15. This book is about two girls that are both turning 15. Their names are Marisol and Magdalena but Marisol calls her Magda. Now for some people when a girl turns 15 it means she a young woman, and no longer a child. But when Marisol returns to her home, and sees her friend, Magda, again she finds out that Magda has two new friends.

Now Marisol is cool that Magda has two new friends, its just that Magda new friends are SHOPLIFTERS! And Magda has been stealing with them! When Marisol gets back from her trip  Magda gives her a gift, a pair of earrings that she stole! And they stop being friends. How could being friends since they were babies end just like that? The worse part is that Magda got caught shoplifting and when her parents find out, boy do they get mad at her. I can't tell you what they do to her. You just have to read this book and find out.

But thats not the only thing Marisol has to worrier about. She has another one SHE MITE NOT HAVE A SWEET 15! You mite think so what its just a party! Big deal! But you have to remember turning 15 for some girls mean she finally a women. She mite not have it because its just her and her mom, and her mom doesn't have enough money for it. Its not that she poor it just you have to pay for every thing. If you watch My Supper Sweet 16 on MTV some times the mom or dad or both tell you how much the hole party was like 1,500 - 10,00 and some time more then that! So how do you think Marisol's mom is going to come up with that much money? So sad that she mite not have a sweet 15.

If you like books about friends and there life's or non-fiction books then this is one book you could like to read. I would give this book *****(5) stars.

By Louise Armstrong

This book is called the big deal baby. The baby name is PJ. PJ`s dad Robbie worked in a supermarket and PJs mom stays home to watch to the baby. PJ never goes to sleep at night only during the day he goes to sleep when no one wants him to. One time when Jamie went to the bathroom she came and started to look for PJ, she found in the kitchen with one of the cabins open he had a bottle of something poison near his mouth. She was not sure if PJ had drank some or not this got  her get very scared this is one reason why  she always deals with PJ so though .Another time that she got really mad was when she walked to the park with PJ . When she got there PJ was asleep she got mad so she said why does he have to sleep now why not at the night. Then PJ woke up and started to cry Janine got mad and squeezed PJ`s arm as if there was a booten that would make him shush up. When Robbie got home he saw Janine in a huge mess of dish’s, glasses, cups, and cleaning stuff. Janine was change the cupboards she put the plates were the soap and stuff were kept and she put the soap and stuff were the bowls and plates were to be kept. Robbie got really mad at Janine. BOOK REVEIW "SEALED WITH A DISS" (FINAL)

Sealed With a Diss is a book about a girl named Massie and her 4 best friends Alicia, Claire, Dylan, and Kristen they are the most popular clique at O.C.D. (an all girls school that they go to) and are known as the pretty committee. I would recommend this book for 12-16 year old girls because it is mostly about girls.

Massie doesn't look up to anyone but Skye Hamilton (the eighth grade Alfa), and throughout the book Massie's biggest challenge is to get Chris (a ninth grade boy that she likes) to like her, another problem is Chris likes her not Skye (but Massie has a boyfriend). Massie doesn't only have to make Chris not like her but to make him like Skye, Massie has to make Chris go to Skye's amazing Halloween party with Skye!♥

In the book before this one the pretty committee competes against some of the other cliques at O.C.D. for a key which unlocks a secret room in O.C.D. that even teachers have forgot about! Skye and all the former Alfa's have made this room into a spa and secret hideout that has flat screen TVs, back massaging chairs and more☻. Massie and the rest of the pretty committee don't find the key but the people who did find it gave it to massie and the pretty committee.

Massie and the pretty committee use the room when ever they have the time (in the middle of classes) and sometimes get caught for not being in class! There is a camera hidden in the boys school and they can spy on the boys from the TV. One day the camera breaks so the girls break into the boys  school to fix it but it was dark and they end up breaking a pipe which later on floods the school and the school collapses. O.C.D. is now not an all girls school but that doesn't make a difference for massie because she dumped her boy friend. They are the only girls not happy that the boys are now in their school♥.

Would you Ride the Carousal?- FINAL

Would you ride the carousel in The Thief Lord? The carousal changes the age of the person or people riding it. If I had the chose to ride the carousal I would choose no. If I rode the carousal I would be older which I don't want tot be. Being older means more responsibilities.

If you ride the carousal that means leaving the life you know the most which is being young. You should enjoy life as it is and as you get older you will learn to cope by yourself and be independent. If were to ride the carousal I would not know how to be an adult, care for myself, or make the money I need. As you grow older you learn how to live on your own.

A older person has more to worry about. One example is trying to take care of themselves. They have to raise money on their own and support themselves. Second, adults can't always rely on their parents. Sometimes it is good to rely on your parents and sometimes it can be a pain. Last, you have a lot to worry about and you have a lot of decisions. For example, when your older and you have no money you have to worry about things like how to make your money or how to live your life.

In the book the characters rely on each other and themselves. Prosper, Bo, Hornet, Riccio, and Mosca rely on what Scipio steals. They make their money by trading the items with Barbarossa. Another is how all of them tried to help Prosper and Bo get away from Victor. In The Thief Lord the children are like young adults trying to cope in life by themselves.

Adults have to big of a job in life when they are on their own. I am choosing no because I am to busy enjoying life as a 12 year old middle school student. You should enjoy life as a kid and when you are ready to be an adult yours and my time will come. I'm just hoping not to soon.

Would you ride the merry go roud? Final

If I could ride the merry-go-round I would.  I would because I could stop at any age and redo my life. Also, if I could ride the merry-go-round and I change my age, I would tell my friends about it so they could turn into the age that I turned myself into and we could have fun. I would tell them because I wouldn't want to be at a different age with no friends because that would be so boring.

Since I would ride the merry-go-round, I would go in the forward direction and stop at age 18. I would stop at age 18 because by then I could have my own car. Who doesn't want a car? Not any one I know. Also, by that age my parents wouldn't tell me that I was just a kid any more. They might tell me to get a job. I'm ok with that because I know that when I grow up, my mom and dad wouldn't give me money because they would tell me that I'm old enough to get my own money. Being 18 would have many good points.

The advantages of turning 18 by riding the merry-go-round are that I could own my own car, I would almost be done with school,  and follow  my  dreams to make my life  even  better. So now no one could tell me what to do-maybe. The disadvantages about being 18 are you have to work for everything, even school. If you want a job, that's good because the pay is good. But, you pay for books, food, clothes, and if you don't have a car how are you going to get all these items. Another disadvantage about being 18 is  there are more tests which means more to study about if you want to get into college. Also, your responsibie for others, and yourself.

And thinking about these ideas, I would still ride the merry-go-round because being an adult means more freedom and responsibility.

magical merry-go-round final

If there was a magical merry-go-round that could take me forward or backwards .I would go back to take back the things that I did in the pass. I would go forward to see how my life would be like.

I would go back because when I was young my mom would always throw me and my twin sister a birthday party. All my family would be there. All my family would bring me and sister every where. When I was young I got t sleep longer and got to play and watch TV. Did not have to go to school.

I would go forward because I could do what ever I want .I could go place that I could not go when I was younger. Get what ever I want. Do not have to do what my parents want me to do. Could have a job have my own family and get married.

If there was a merry-go-round that could take me forward or back that is what i would of did. That is why and what i would of did.

IF I RODE THE "MAGIC CAROUSEL" FINAL

If I could ride on the "Magical Carousel" I would go back in time to when I was younger because I could redo any mistakes I made while I was young. If I rode the "Magic Carousel" I would stop at age 7, but the only problem with that is that I wouldn't have as much freedom as I do now. I would like to be younger because: I could redo any mistakes I made, have a longer time to live life, know things that I shouldn't do, and be able to do more things I wanted to do while I was young. Over all I would have more time to live life the way I wanted to.

If I were to go forward to an older age than I wouldn't have enough time to do all the things I would like to do while I'm still young.I would have more freedom but I wouldn't fit in because the other adults had been adults all along and I would have just become one,  I wouldn't know what other adults normal behavior was and I wouldn't know how to act around other adults (like in the movie "13 going on 30").

As a child I don't think I would feel as stressed out as I would as an adult, therefore I would have more fun in my new age. But if I did go forward in time I would probably skip to age 30, because its not to old and not to young, I would have also possibly skipped any injuries that might have occurred, and any big mistakes that might have affected my life.

I think that if people had the chance to change their age they should go back in time because then they can go back and fix any mistakes they want to, and maybe make new ones!

Theaf Lord Merry-Go-Round finial

If I had the chance to get a ride on the Merry-go-round ether forward or back I wound stay were I was. Most people would say that it would be nice to be older or to look back and relive there childhood. I have to say that they are right it would but I have my on opinion.

My reasons for not taking a spin on the Merry-go-round is that I want to stay the age I am. I want to enjoy the life the way it is as it comes towards me. I wont be young forever put I don't want to speed up the process. Yet I don't want to go back and relive my childhood because it takes a long time to grow up. I'm really looking forward to growing up, having a job, a family, power and getting to fulfill my dream.

If I had no choice but to go on the Merry-go-round I would go back. I only have 12 years to be a kid and I got to live it up. I would rather go back a few years and getting a chance to have more fun and get a chance to do things differently. Besides no matter of far I go back I'm going to grow up so I have to enjoy the time I have. It would be nice to be a kid again.

I can't really think of any flaws in my destination so I wont talk about it. There is a flaw in each chose you make. To go forward or go back and even staying were you are. We all know when we make our choices that there will be some things we wont like but we were prepared to dill with it when we made our choice. When you go back you get to be young again but you wont have the power of and adult and when you are a child you are told to behave and given rules. When you go forward you get more work on your hands, you have less time your always busies, you don't have as much fun like when u we little. The is a good and bad to every thing. I chose to be right in the middle.
