My whole family and some of my friends are Filipino . My parents had grew up in the Philippines for most of there lives. My dad has been living there for 20 years and my mom a little longer. They wanted there children to grow up learning about the Philippines, eating the food, learning the culture, and learning the dialect.
My parents were born and raised in the Philippines. My mother was born in Mansiligan, Bacolod. She was the oldest of three children and the only girl. One sister and one brother had died shortly after birth. She went to nursing school and had graduated in 1980. She had gotten a job at Sound Shore Medical Center. She boarded a plane to New York and moved to New Rochelle. My dad was born in Pulupandan, Philippines and was the third oldest of nine children. He grew up in a loving environment, but did not have much money. He worked on a boat like his other siblings. He then came to America and lived in New Jersey.
My parents had met at their friends wedding and had their first date with the friends who got married. Then they got married and my dad had moved to New Rochelle. One year later they had my brother, Josh, and two years after my brother they had me. My parents have been together for almost 15 years.
My parents grew up with not much money, but they were loved so much.Today, my parents share the same love that their parents gave them with us.
